Where can I download my editing certificate?
Once your order has been completed and returned to you, you can contact customerservice@scribendi.com to request an editing certificate.
Do you provide editing certificates for free samples?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an editing certificate for a free sample order. While the editing certificate is free of charge, a paid order must be completed and returned to you before we can issue one.
What happens if I upload the wrong file on my order?
It is expected that you will carefully review your uploaded order files before placing your order. However, if you notice that your order has the incorrect file, please contact customerservice@scribendi.com as soon as possible to request that a new file be uploaded. Depending on the status of your order, replacing the file may not be possible.
How can I apply to be a freelance editor for Scribendi?
All applications for freelance editor jobs can be submitted directly through our Jobs page. Please note that freelance editor applications will not be accepted or reviewed by email, and our Customer Service team is not able to discuss applications over the phone.
Do you offer student pricing?

Can I submit a second order free of charge once I receive feedback from my target journal?
Scribendi's standard editing and proofreading services include one round of editing. Another order will need to be placed for work that requires additional revision after the completed order is received. If you would like a second revision of your academic manuscript at a discounted price, you may be interested in ordering Scribendi's Scientific Editing service. This service is specifically designed for academics seeking expert subject-specific editorial services and offers a second round of editing at 50% of the original order cost.
How can I track my order? I didn't receive a confirmation email.
For nonregistered users, a confirmation email containing your order details and a tracking code will be sent to the email address provided during checkout at the time of successful payment. To ensure that you will receive your tracking information, please confirm that you entered the correct email address during the checkout process. You can also create a Scribendi account, which will allow you to track your past and present orders directly in your unique user portal.
Can you check my editor's availability? How do I request an editor?
While our Customer Service team can certainly check in with your editor, we cannot guarantee the availability of a specific editor. When placing your order, you can request an editor by entering their unique editor code in the text box that says "EM Code (Optional)" during checkout.
If you'd like to request a previous editor but can't remember their code, simply email customerservice@scribendi.com with your previous order number, and they will be able to retrieve it for you.
Can my editor review and format my citations based on my target journal's guidelines?
Yes! Our editors can certainly review your citations according to your specific style guide. However, our editors are not permitted to change citation formatting from a numbered reference system to an in-text (author-date) reference system.
Why is my order status "Suspended"?
Your order could be shown as "Suspended" for a few reasons. If there was an issue with your paid order (e.g., your order instructions are unclear, or the files uploaded to your order seem incorrect), our Customer Service team may have suspended your order and contacted you via email to confirm the next steps of your order. If you think there may be an issue with your paid order, please check your email for communication from our Customer Service team.
If you have ordered a Free Sample and the status is "Suspended," this simply means that your sample is waiting to be assigned and will be completed within the 7-day window.
